As a kid my favourite thing about the picnic was playing the games and winning school supplies. We never had to shop for back to school –we always won our pencils, rulers and markers. My favourite games were the water balloon toss and the shoe kick. We used to always practice at home beforehand to make sure we were wearing a heavy enough shoe that we could get some distance. Today, although I still do enjoy the shoe kick and water ballon toss, the amazing pot luck lunch is my favourite part.
This year, we have decided to do our own family picnic on Labour Day Sunday complete with pot luck, water balloons and of course, the shoe kick.
